The senior staff leadership needed to get through a lengthy and complex agenda and solve problems creatively and productively. Some of the issues requiring discussion involved the CEO and the senior staff, who needed to be part of the conversation, thus weren’t best positioned to facilitate the meeting. Other issues were in danger of being “talked to death” with no actual resolution.
Using a highly structured agenda and a strictly held time schedule, we kept the conversation directed towards being productive. We facilitated a meeting characterized by productive brainstorming and open communication by defining the most important points to be raised and the most productive path to resolution. In the end, senior staff leadership reached a consensus on priorities and the organization moved forward armed with clear, actionable decisions, defined time-frames and owners for each initiative.
